We have selected 3 funky whites here to challenge your taste buds.
Ikigall: Winemaker David Seijas (ex-Head Sommelier for El Bulli) is on a mission to revive indigenous grape varieties in Spain and he hasn’t let us down with Ikigall (Xarel-lo grape).
Organically grown, this fragrant wine will set the tone for the evening, with notes of orange blossom and peach.
If you need an excuse to drink wine, Seijas named this wine after the Japanese word ‘Ikigai’- a reason to live.
Domaine de L’Enclos, Chablis: One of the most exciting new domaines in recent years, an unknown wine producer within the Chablis world and we intend to keep it a secret as long as possible.
One of only a few vintages released, this beast is packed with tropical fruit flavours and a beautifully balanced acidity. This is not your normal Chablis!
We've always had appreciation for wine, good or bad because the hard work involved in making it. This vintage was hit with frost at the end of April which lead the farmers to light fires around the vines 24/7 to protect the yield.
The Three Foxes: Set up by 3 friends in 2004, Three Foxes are a low intervention winery with only 2000 bottles produced.
This skin contact white (Orange in colour) is a pure expression of its origins, unfiltered and unrefined. Funky and intriguing notes of butternut squash, intense orange notes and a weighty texture.
Not for the faint-hearted, it packs a punch!
